Hyeri Rhee

매체 미학(Media Aesthetics)과 생성예술(Generative Art)을 연구해온 이혜리 작가 는 사물과 사람에 대한 메타인지적 재해석으로 시공간의 연속체(space -time continuum)적인 Unconscious Universe를 만들어 낸다. 무의식의 세계가 만들어 내는 찰라의 순간은 에너지의 충돌과 발란스(창발)이라는 패턴의 유기적 형태 즉 기하학적 유기체화(Geometrical Organization)로 상징화된다. 유기적인 에너 지는 유전자형(Genotype)이라는 내형의 정보와 표현형(Phenotype)이라는 거시 적인 외형체 정보로 구성된다. 유전자 데이터는 외부와 내부 상태의 환경 조건(규 칙)에 따라 계속적으로 자신의 정보를 업데이트 하며 자신의 외형을 변화(생성) 시킨다. 작가는 이러한 시스템 아트(System Art) 메커니즘을 통해 알고리즘 시스 템이 만들어 내는 이미지의 독창성을 부여하며 시스템 스스로 새로운 디자인을 생성하도록 한다. 이는 알고리즘으로 이루어진 자동화 매체만이 가질 수 있는 지 속(La Duree)의 정체성이라 할 수 있으며, 시스템 미디어의 무한한 창작성을 보 여 준다.
